Plan, develop and implement PR/Event strategies culminating in an ongoing resort calendar of events;
Use initiative to implement cost effective events using availble resources;
Understand how the role fits in conjunction with wider resort marketing plan and activities;
Take ownership of tasks and assignments;
Research, write and distribute press releases to target media, provide information for resort newsletter;
Organize events, including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours;
Improve links with local community through events with consideration to the resorts corporate social responsibility;
Conducting a follow up analysis of events and reporting to superiors;
Manage and explore new sponsorship opportunities;
Media monitoring and monthly reporting of media clips, with suggestions on how to improve the resorts current image/profile;
Monitoring of competitors events and activities, compare, analysis and improve the offering;
Monitoring and contributing to social media channels;
Maintain and update customer databases;
Working with marketing manager material to create promotional material for the event & distributing it to the target audience.
Training in events management or related area
2-3 years experience (internships, agency, in-house or otherwise);
Ability to show initiative;
Proficient in Social Media Channels including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and others;
Ability to work independently and problem solve;
Ability to interact effectively with team members and learn from constructive criticism;
Creative and critical thinking.
