french translator (maternity cover) (m / f/ d)

Usercentrics is a global leader in the field of consent management platforms (CMP). We follow our company vision to build a world where user privacy enables a thriving digital ecosystem. Our mission is to provide privacy solutions that empower organizations to embrace data privacy while building trust with their users through freedom of choice. We are looking now for a talented French translator as a maternity cover, with a contract length of 12 months. The position is part-time, with a workload of 20 hours/week. The new hire will be part of our Content Team, reporting to our Localization Manager. We offer a high degree of flexibility and a hybrid work policy.

Your main task is to translate and review translations of several kinds of marketing content from English to French. The topics are privacy legislation in the EU and beyond, and technology and software that enable organizations and website owners to comply.

You will maintain our content updated and SEO-optimized, with the help of experts.

You will make sure our texts really cater to a French audience, therefore avoiding literal translations, but preserving accuracy.

Other ad-hoc tasks show up from time to time, such as researching on French media outlets, enhancing our French Google Ads, writing shorter articles in French, etc.

You bring at least 2 years of experience in marketing/comms translations and/or content creation in French, preferably in the tech or legal industry.

You are familiar with privacy tech, software and EU law.

You have a university degree in translation studies, French language, communication, marketing, journalism, or other relevant subjects.

You like the challenge of translating in-depth texts and of making complex matters intelligible and pleasant to read about. You know how French customers and prospects should be addressed and what they expect from a company like Usercentrics.

You are a fluent writer who speaks and writes perfect French, with impeccable grammar and an innate “sense for language”.

You are efficient but also thorough and detail oriented. You are personable and dependable.
