senior product developer

We are looking for a Senior Product Developer with extensive knowledge of design, furniture, lighting, fabrics, rugs and decoration brands to lead our in-house product design team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Product Developer, you will work with the Design Director, and existing designers, to create and manage all areas of the categories offered by our brand. This role will predominantly focus on furniture. This includes both the design of new products (research, design, CAD work, development, safety standard compliance, sourcing, multiple factory visits and manufacturing) and the management of existing product lines (continual development, design improvements, factory QA, internal QC etc.).

Managing the development of various products simultaneously will be a crucial part of your role. This includes working on new products and improving the quality/efficiency of the process from concept through to manufacture and delivery.

You will liaise with internal and external personnel and suppliers, to achieve a common goal and meet deadlines.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Degree or Master in Product Design, Industrial Design or similar;

3+ years of professional experience in product design and development in the furniture industry;

Track record of successful product launches from concept, through development, manufacture and delivery;

Strong SolidWorks skills from the first sketches to the beginning of production;

Knowledge of CAD;

Knowledge of Adobe CC pack (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere);

Knowledge of technical processes and materials (wood and metal);

Proficiency in spoken and written English (mandatory);

Experience of liaising with suppliers and factory visits;

Experience in managing and improving quality;

Project management skills;

Communicate ideas visually and verbally;

Presentation skills;

Availability to travel nationally and internationally.
