back-end developer (ruby-on-rails) – medior or senior
We are looking for a Medior/Senior Back-end Developer (Ruby-on-Rails) for a full-time long-term employment at a fast-growing start-up Productpine. As a member of the Software Engineering team, you will work in an exciting and fast-paced start-up environment together with a highly skilled team.
Productpine is the fastest-growing e-commerce marketplace in Western Europe. We are making direct-to-consumer sales 80% cheaper for brands, so brands can increasingly sell directly to customers without middlemen. We’re doing this by building a next-generation marketplace, empowered by underlying advertising technology that allows brands to share advertising costs.
As an Amsterdam-headquartered start-up, we have over 30 team members in the Netherlands, Portugal, Ukraine and Vietnam. Our development team (size 8) is located in Netherlands, Ukraine and Vietnam. We have raised $3.5M Seed funding from international investors (that previously invested in Airbnb, Pinterest, Square, Classpass, Wish) and senior executives (eBay) to help direct-to-consumer brands thrive and consumers improve their consumption decisions.
With 90 active brands on our platform and over 600 brands in the waiting list, we are entering a period of rapid growth and are inviting you to be part of it.
As our new Medior/Senior developer, you will be the overlord of Productpine’s back-end development and architecture. Scaling apps for a large number of users is something you could do in your sleep. Designing a product inventory management system and integrating them in our ecosystem will be part of your development responsibilities. But more importantly, you will be the one who manages our code structure across multiple applications, while also keeping a close eye on the test coverage.
Working closely with our Product Owners, you will rapidly turn client needs and ideas into new features. The work created by you and your fast growing team will be implemented within a very short time and will have an impact on the lives of millions of consumers and thousands of brands. Your profile
-You are a team player who loves learning from your talented colleagues. You can carry ideas from creation to implementation and share our passion for clean and well-tested software. At the end of the day, nothing makes you happier than seeing well written and high-quality code.
-You are a curious and fast learner that soaks up knowledge and new experiences like a sponge. You are comfortable working both the front- and back-end and will have no trouble creating brand new features from scratch, together with our UX and Business teams.
Responsibilities
-Developing our Brand Management System, which includes a product inventory management system, brand storefront builder, data analytics and more;
-Setting up a robust and future-proof architecture;
-Discuss company-wide choices with regards to the technology stack, architecture, infrastructure, and development processes;
-Translating designs into high quality code.
Who are you?
-You completed a relevant Bachelor or Master;
-You have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Developer;
-You are fluent in either English or Dutch;
-We are looking for a great coder. You will work mainly with Ruby on Rails (min. 2 years experience preferred). We are not solely looking for experience with Ruby on Rails, as we also appreciate experience in for example C#, Python, Java;
-Bonus: familiar with React, Javascript, Typescript and/or Postgres.
