speak for ukraine project manager
Location: Lisbon or Porto
Our mission is to contribute to inclusive cities where everyone feels at home and where diversity is championed. We do this by connecting refugees with locals living in the same city through language groups, where everyone can apply to learn and/or share their language and culture, and community-organized events.
In the face of continued war in Ukraine and the fact that over 2 million people have left the country, we want to make sure that they can find all the support they need in the new countries they are currently living in. To help us reach this goal, we launched a new platform, SPEAK For Ukraine, and we are looking for someone that can enhance the impact of this initiative.
That’s where you come in — your job will be to connect refugees and host organizations with volunteers that are willing to share their language, culture and more. If you are a project manager full of grit, ready to change the world, and want to be part of SPEAK’s mission, this job might just be perfect for you.
Job description – what you will get to do:
Lead the project SPEAK for Ukraine, working as the point of contact between the operations and marketing teams to ensure efficient and effective communication and delivery.
Work as the point of contact for the refugees, volunteers and NGOs participating in the project.
Manage the operations of the activities offered in the program: creation and monitoring of language groups, organization of emotional support groups and management of supply and demand of translators and any other type of support.
Identify, establish and manage partnerships with key stakeholders, such as local, national and international organizations, parish councils and self-organized groups;
Work with the communications and marketing team to (i) inform refugees from Ukraine in Portugal and in Europe about the project and (ii) recruit and train volunteers, and (iii) engage and support the SPEAK community in order to increase the project’s impact;
Report on the social impact of the project and systematize the information;
