The role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to develop and execute manual tests, and ideally experienced with test automation tools to measure and ensure esolidar’s Product quality.
QA Analyst responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g., defect densities and open defect counts.)
This QA role plays an essential part in esolidar’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets our customer needs while being cost-effective. If you hold an Engineering background and enjoy providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you should monitor software development stages to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
We are currently building an amazing Quality Assurance team, refining our product development process, and your expertise and input will have a long-lasting impact.

What you’ll do

Review and analyze user stories, requirements, and specifications to provide timely and meaningful feedback, including identification of potential business risks;
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases;
Be capable of acting as a hands-on quality expert, providing guidance to the whole team;
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities;
Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meets end-user expectations;
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track defects;
Perform thorough regression testing when defects are resolved;
Develop and apply testing policies and processes for new and existing products to meet client needs;
Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify and validate system requirements;
Collaborate with developers on finding the causes of non-conforming software and monitor debugging process results;
Track QA metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts;
Follow and propose process improvement points from product conception to delivery in production;
Stay up-to-date with new testing processes, tools and techniques.

Who you are

You live within the Brazilian or Portuguese timezone (UTC-3 to UTC+1)
A professional with 3+ years of experience in Information Systems or related fields;
MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred;
Proven track record in the QA field, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment;
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, processes and apply them when necessary;
Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases, based on reviewing requirements, user-stories and/or technical specifications;
Record defects in such a way that developers and other stakeholders can reproduce and understand;
Hands-on experience with both white-box and black-box testing, including exploratory testing techniques;
Basic knowledge of test automation techniques, frameworks and tools;
Basic knowledge of SQL and scripting;
Highly collaborative and teamwork style, being able to gather consensus and take action;
A QA mindset means you like to break things, but you also get satisfaction when customers love your product;
Continuous learner, self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Proficient in written and spoken English.

It will be a nice plus if you have

ISTQB Foundation Certification;
Familiar with Atlassian products (JIRA and Confluence);
Test Automation background: Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools;
Past experience as a Software Engineer;
Experience with End-to-end and/or API automated testing using Postman;
Basic knowledge with Performance, Stress and/or Security testing.
