The role
We are looking for talented and enthusiastic Python Software Engineers to join the team working remotely from Portugal. As a company built on a reputation of quality products, with an emphasis on delivery, a growing development team is a core component of this.
You’ll be working within a multidisciplinary technology team to evolve and extend our flagship Skylark product. You’ll be joining at an exciting time where we are looking to considerably enhance what we have to support the next stage of growth.
Responsibilities:
● Creating a great customer impression of the company’s technical skills, dedication, method
and approach, putting energy and enthusiasm into projects they may be assigned to
● Delivering work of high technical standards and accuracy and completeness
● Have a high sense of accountability
● Creating documentation
● Thoroughly testing their code and helping external testers create good test plans so the system will be thoroughly tested
● By their own enthusiasm, can be an energetic member of the team to collectively participate in system and user acceptance testing so that there is a team-based sense of ownership to quality
● Software support — application maintenance — bug fixing — small enhancements
● Participation in reviews – code, design, test etc
● Good reporting of progress – can estimate own work well
Skills and Experience:
● 2+ years experience of working on commercial enterprise systems
● Developing high performance API centric applications
● Working in a microservices architecture
● Developing with AWS services
● Working with a range of databases including NoSQL, Graph, RDBMS
● Experience working with search technologies such as ElasticSearch
● Experience in establishing repeatable design patterns and approaches
● Familiarity with continuous integration approaches and tooling, including pipelines as code
● Experience with containers and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
● Worked as part of a multi-discipline team providing out of hours support for a live product
Nice to have:
● AWS Certification
● Experience with media, broadcast or OTT platforms
● Knowledge of python frameworks such as Flask / Django
