interior designer

This position requires solid Hospitality interior design experience in the UK or/and Europe. The position will include working on several projects and supporting the Associate leading your team. The main function of this role is to provide creative and technical support and maintain the integrity of the design from concept to completion. The role will be varied, and you will be required to demonstrate that you have the following experience and abilities:

Role in team:
Assisting the Seniors and Associate in the team to deliver to fixed deadlines
Develop a design from original brief through to completion
Confident and professional client facing skills and abilities
Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Produce designs to client’s project budget
Self-motivated with a clear ability to use initiative & be pro-active
Work effectively under the supervision of the Associate and Directors, heeding direction and
advice when given
Adapt and respond to clients’ requirements as they develop and recognise and manage change
when this exceeds scope of services and original brief
Maintain design integrity throughout the design development and construction processes
Comfortable working to a deadline in a fast paced, busy environment
A team player; able to work alongside and for others

Design Process:
Assist in taking and assimilating a brief, developing it into pitch presentation
Ensure continuity and compliance with brief and project requirements
Maintain concept through design development and implementation
Produce mood presentations using images, sketches, samples etc. to best communicate ideas § Space plan to a clients’ brief
Sense of scale & the ability to think 3 dimensionally, particularly in relation to project solving
Confident presentation skills & design team communication

Production & Specification:
Good technical background and the ability to fully understand and produce technical and furniture drawings, schedules and specifications
A good knowledge of finishes & FF&E and how these are intrinsic to the overall design
A good understanding of materials and construction techniques
Strong co-ordination & communication skills and the ability to liaise with and communicate
ideas and solutions with clients, consultants and suppliers coherently through drawings and
Working towards an understanding and capability in all areas of documentation delivery

Working towards checking and marking up other consultant’s and manufacturer’s drawings
Ability to clearly communicate and record ideas and information
Confident in attending site meetings, taking clear minutes and representing the company and
client’s interests by maintaining design integrity without compromising quality, time or cost

Experience and capabilities:
IT literate
A very good understanding of and competence in AutoCAD § Good capability in Excel
MAC experience
Freehand sketching
