Over the last decade, Further Learning has grown to encompass a number of international academies. The company is headquartered in Dublin city centre and located in multiple cities across Ireland, UK and Australia. We offer classroom, home-study and blended learning courses in Interior Design, Garden Design, Horticulture, Photography, Fashion Design and Digital Marketing.

We are currently looking to recruit a dedicated Learning Experience Designer to join our Academic Team in Porto, with the possibility of working remotely.

Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience working within further and higher education and will have an understanding of best practices in the online and blended learning sector. They will have strong written and visual communication skills, as well as a flair for creativity. They will be able to work with subject matter specialists to produce engaging content and learner support materials and will facilitate the development of an engaging learner experience across a range of subject areas in both online and blended learning environments.

Reporting to the Head of Content and Delivery, the learner experience designer will work closely with the Content Manager and Education Assessment Developer, supporting the academic team in delivering an engaging and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
•Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and supports the development of transferable skills
•Work with subject matter experts to identify student training needs
•Create and review a range of support materials (audio, video, visual and written content, graphics etc) that are well written, visually appealing and appropriate for relevant education levels
•Support a large team of tutors in the delivery of innovative learning activities within an online and blended learning environment
•Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
•Understand and apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
•Maintain project documentation and course folders

Experience and skills required:
•Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Instructional Design or a related field
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in the education sector is essential
•Experience working with online learning environments is essential
•Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal, is essential. Minimum level overall band score of 7 or 8 IELTS or C1 Cambridge English
•Proven working experience in instructional design and educational content development
•Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
•Strong visual design skills are essential and experience with storyboarding educational content is desirable
•Ability to understand and leverage data analytics to develop the learner experience is desirable
