Further Learning Group was established in 2004 with the aim of providing quality distance learning courses that would enable students to acquire the skills they needed to change their careers.

Over the last decade, Further Learning has grown to encompass a number of international academies. The company is headquartered in Dublin city centre and located in multiple cities across Ireland, UK and Australia. We offer classroom, home-study and blended learning courses in Interior Design, Garden Design, Horticulture, Photography, Fashion Design and Digital Marketing.

We are currently looking to recruit a dedicated Education Assessment Developer to join our Academic Team in Porto, with the possibility of working remotely.

Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within the further and higher education sector, writing academic assessments and related content based on programme specifications, unit descriptors and learning outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of Content and Delivery, the EAD will be responsible for creating, managing and reviewing academic assessments across all our courses as well as providing detailed feedback and assistance to our team of tutors on best practices in assessment. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Content Manager, to support the academic team in developing level-appropriate content and assessment strategies, in line with audit feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

•Analyse and understand programme specifications, unit descriptors and learning outcomes
•Analyse and understand quality assurance policies
•Write and develop assessments, across a range of topics, in line with programme specifications, learning outcomes, quality policies and best pedagogical approaches
•Review and update existing assessments as required
•Identify associated content needed for development in relation to assessments
•Liaise with wider Academic Team on assessment requirements across all academies
•Update and review assessment quality in line with audit feedback

Experience and skills required:
●Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English Literature, Creative Writing, Communications or a related field
●Minimum 2 years’ experience in the education sector is essential
●Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal, is essential. Minimum level overall band score of 7 or 8 IELTS or C1 Cambridge English.
●Interest in and understanding academic writing for a student audience is important.
●Content editing experience is desirable.
●Academic research experience is desirable.
