Overview & Responsibilities
Doppio is looking to hire a Senior Front-end Web Developer to help us develop and operate the next generation of party games for interactive play over video conferencing and popular streaming-video platforms.
In this role, you will:
Develop and maintain front-end software for our online gaming platform, which will enable our customers to connect and play games with others over video conferencing
Work with game-client software engineers, producers and game designers to design and develop client-side SDKs in support of integrating our games with the web platform
Work with back-end software engineers to implement APIs for server-dependent features
Instrument, profile, and analyse client code to identify and fix complex bugs and performance issues
Produce technical design documentation to explain and educate stakeholders and fellow engineers about software design decisions and principles
Triage and fix high-impact issues that arise working in a live environment
Required Skills
5+ years of front-end web development experience
Extensive familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS
Prior experience developing and deploying complex, responsive web applications across popular PC and mobile web browsers
Ability to solicit and incorporate feedback in an iterative prototyping process
Ability to work on a team with other engineers, designers, and developers
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with the Unity game engine
Familiarity with commonly-used web application frameworks, such as React
Familiarity with video conferencing on the web over e.g. WebRTC
Familiarity with building integrations with streaming video platforms such as Twitch and YouTube
Experience making and distributing web-based games
Experience supporting live services, particularly in games
Familiarity with distributed source control, particularly Git
Location
This role is for our Lisbon office.
Note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our Lisbon office is currently closed. This role may therefore initially require remote work, depending on public health conditions in Portugal at the time you start.
