audio visual technical coordinator of events (working contract)

Plan of activities:
The Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown (CCU) is looking for an AV Technical Coordinator of Events to integrate its team. We need someone who is hard working, keen to develop, proactive, organised and that has an eye for detail.
As AV Technical Coordinator of Events, you will manage and operate all Champalimaud Foundation’s audiovisual equipment and give support to all events taking place at the CCU: institutional, scientific and external. The right candidate will have meticulous attention to detail and be highly proficient in all technical aspects of audiovisual equipment and experienced in managing all the AV-related aspects of events, while bringing positivity and enthusiasm to the team.

Candidate Profile/Essential Requirements:
~ Set-up, assist and oversee successful events. Responsible for the set up, operation, programming, storage, maintenance (cleaning and repair), management, upgrade, inventory, documentation and deployment of all audio, video, lighting and broadcast equipment at the CCU;
~ Provide onsite support to the events, communication and facility management teams;
~ Procurement of new audiovisual equipment and maintenance services for existing equipment;
~ Financial management of operations;
~ Suppliers management, from quotation requests, negotiation and monitoring during all stages of event production;
~ Direct customer service experience dealing with external clients (events), namely budgeting, contracts, schedules and financial control;
~ Experience of at least 5 years in events operation and management, in the audiovisual field;
~ Experience in negotiation and sales;
~ Excellent organization and management skills;
~ Fluent in English;
~ Positive, problem solving attitude and ability to work under pressure;
~ Strong communication skills;
~ Ability to help projects to run smoothly, being aware of timings, deliverables and workflow;
~ Ability to coordinate the schedule and work of different teams, including technicians.

Duration and place of work:
This working contract will have a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal for additional periods, depending on positive evaluation. Activities will take place at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, in Lisbon, Portugal.

Monthly Stipend:
Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.

The Audio Visual Technical Coordinator of Events will work directly with the Events Unit and the Communication Team.
