Role Definition:

The IT Administrator will work in a busy and challenging environment at ARC International Design Consultants, providing 1st line IT support and guidance to our office in Lisbon, in coordination with our sister company in KSA. The role demands a high standard of in-house IT support and the development of internal tools. Duties and responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

– Provide excellent IT support to the office and all ARC staff;
– Coordinate with sister company IT department for synced software updates in all offices;
– Provide 1st level technical support and advice in BIM related services (Autodesk Server, ProjectWise, Revit, Dynamo scripts);
– To contribute, or otherwise assist, as required.

Incident, Problem and Service Request Management:

– Respond to and process incidents and service requests;
– Effective handling of complaints and escalations;
– Monitor and take ownership of incidents to resolution, providing regular office updates in coordination with the other offices of the Group;
– Liaise closely with other IT remote teams on incidents requiring multiple discipline involvement.

Technical:

– Installing ARC approved software onto user’s machines;
– Promote and follow established procedures;
– Active Directory and Exchange User Management;
– Provide Remote User and Site support;
– Provide Microsoft Outlook email client support;
– Configure ARC provided mobile devices;
Troubleshooting basic printer issues;
FTP administration;
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant IT applications and technologies;
– Excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems.

Administration:

– Understand and adhere to all elements of ARC technical standards, licensing requirements and security policy;
– Supply and maintain loan IT equipment including updating and monitoring of the loan database/calendar and software licenses;
– Thorough knowledge of and compliance with ARC procedures and standards.

Essential:

– Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities;
– Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science or related field of study;
– Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure;
– Ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources;
– Excellent telephone and email manner;
Legally able to work in the country in which the position is based (Portugal);
– Good working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems;
– Good working knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office suite;
– Good working knowledge and experience with remote administration tools;
– Ability to work with all levels of IT staff inside and outside the organization;
– A general understanding of network technologies, VPN, remote access solutions, terminal servers and virus protection tools;
– Experience working with a broad range of systems and peripherals including laptops, printers and plotters;
– Knowledge of common software applications and willingness to learn about others used in the practice;
– Basic knowledge of ProjectWise;
– Good knowledge of Windows devices and configurations;
– Able to work 8 hour shifts Monday – Friday, between 9:00 – 18:00;
– Good written and verbal communication skills in English language – articulate and diplomatic manner;
– Excellent organizational skills;
– Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information;
– Self-motivated and able to take responsibility;
– Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work effectively under pressure (while remaining calm and professional at all times);

Desirable:

– Previous experience with Revit API, preferably with basic knowledge in .NET compliant language including VB.NET, C# and C++/CLI will be highly valued;
– Basic knowledge in Python, C++, C# or Java to develop our internal Dynamo scripts will be highly valued;
– Familiar with the following products: Revit Server, ProjectWise, Adobe Suite, Autodesk 3ds Max, Navisworks;
– Good working knowledge and experience in offices that work with BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit and Dynamo will be highly valued;
– Basic knowledge of web programming is also highly valued.
