HBO Portugal is on the verge of an exciting moment and we are seeking a talented and experienced Distribution Sales Manager to help pave the launch into the Portuguese market.
This is a highly entrepreneurial and fast-paced leadership role that will be charged with securing HBO Portugal’s future growth in B2C and B2B sales channels.
By leveraging your stellar ability to build strong relationships across all levels you will drive high-level distribution partnerships that will, in turn, maximize subscriber acquisitions.
Your outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work within a small team setting, and passion for the VOD space will have a large impact on HBO Portugal’s team success.

The assignment:
Defining, developing, and implementing a high-level roadmap with HBO Portugal’s key partner.
Establishing strong relationships with partners (operators, hardware manufacturers, and other affiliates) and serving as a primary point of contact.
Proactively advocating for and driving improvements for our partners while building great relationships with internal teams and stakeholders to accomplish HBO Portugal and partner goals.
Identifying potential for new partnerships.
Creating ambassadors for the brand. Identifying and driving sales campaigns.
Providing local market updates or research for new opportunities and challenges.
Understanding our partner(s)’ sales funnels and customer service flows.

You will report to the SVP Distribution HBO Europe and will work closely with multiple departments throughout HBO Europe.

Required experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience focused on media partnerships and partner sales (preferably from a leading entertainment company).
Experience in OTT or subscription businesses a plus!
Solid track record in sales and marketing, with a strong focus on partner sales.
Knowledge of TV/VOD/SVOD market and trends in Portugal.

Personal Qualities:
A strong interest in television and film, as well as innovative marketing and partnership trends.
A passion for entrepreneurial, start-up environments.
Excellent communication/interpersonal and presentation skills with an affinity for driving enthusiasm in other team members.
Strong business acumen and proactive, self-starter approach with the ability to execute in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Fluency in written and spoken English & Portuguese.
